Dr. Bethany Hipple Walters
Dr. Bethany Hipple Walters was educated at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. She worked for many years as a Project Director on pediatric tobacco control at Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Child and Adolescent Health Policy and as the medical archivist at Yale New Haven Hospital. She did a PhD at the ErasmusMC in Rotterdam, where her work focused on researching the treatment of chronic disease and integration of programs into established medical systems. She developed and implemented disease management programs to treat chronic diseases in five practice groups in the Netherlands.
Bethany currently works both at the Trimbos Institute in international programs on tobacco control and in the US, where she is running a large and comprehensive stop smoking program for parents.
